Abstract

Periodontitis is a chronic infectious disease leading to destruction of periodontal structures, if untreated leads to tooth loss. An correct diagnosis is based on a comprehensive examination. The development of diagnostic techniques allows for the assessment of a patient's reaction to periodontal therapy, the determination of whether the disease is active, and the prediction of the illness's future course. This review article discuss the recent updates in the diagnostic tools for periodontal diagnosis.
